Applications are invited for the position of Manager, Regional Programs. This vacancy is available to commence 2 January 2025, or another date as agreed with the successful candidate in January 2025.
The Manager, Regional Programs is a key role responsible for leading teams to deliver regional services and programs to support small businesses, training and skilling initiatives across the region. The Manager is a key member of the North Queensland Regional Office leadership team and supports efficient and effective service delivery by coordinating various whole of office activities, with a collaboration and growth mindset. By fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, translating policy direction into operational activities, and supporting your team's growth and development, you will ensure the successful delivery of the North Queensland operational plan.
As the Manager, Regional Programs you will specifically:
Provide high level advice, support, and information to the Regional Director regarding the delivery of regional services and programs to support training, small business and skilling initiatives in the region. Drive and lead key relationships and partnerships with stakeholders, including businesses, industry, training providers, schools, and community to identify emerging trends within industry sectors and the vocational education and training system, representing the department professionally and in line with Queensland Public Service values. Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders to continuously improve engagement across teams and regions. What we are looking for
Facilitates and co-ordinates the enhancements of systems, events, practices and/or processes and provide advice on operational and strategic management activities associated with the region's operations and achievement of performance benchmarks. Provides leadership and direction to staff to foster and encourage a workplace environment that is outcomes focused and instils a culture of continuous improvement through effective communication, collaboration, pro-active performance management and flexible workplace management practices. Represents the region at local events, forums and meetings, and manages external relationships with stakeholders, other government departments, industry, schools and community organisations to ensure the department's role within the region is widely known and positively viewed.
