Managed Solutions is a business technology provider with around 50 staff based in Ipswich and with an office in Taringa.
We provide a range of managed services as well as internet connectivity, voice, data, communications and electrical.Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity available for a Systems and Network Administrator.Our internet team – Managed Solutions Internet – provides networking services to our business, corporate and education clients including connectivity, data-centre hosting, network design and support to our MSP technical team and directly to our clients.We also provide domain management, web and mail hosting and other related services.We are looking at adding a person to the team that has a background in systems or networking and wishes to grow their skills in these areas.
The role will be flexible and can accommodate varying degrees of experience in each field.
The role can grow more specialised over time as experience is gained.On the networking side, our environment is primarily Mikrotik, Fortinet, Cisco, Ubiquiti, as well as the usual mix of other client equipment such as Aruba, Sophos, Watchguard, etc.
In addition, we support the networking for the private clouds of our MSP clients running on Hyper-V and VMware.On the systems side this role has a primary focus on Ubuntu and CloudLinux and use Ansible for automation.We are a friendly and focused team working in a very adaptable and cooperative environment with great coffee, breakfast and lunch served daily!
All we need now is for you to contribute your technical know-how, cooperative personality, and commitment to getting things done.The role is primarily systems and networking with potential opportunity to work on a range of projects across the services that we offer.The responsibilities and duties revolve around:cPanel with WHMCS - mail/web hosting supportDomain registration and hostingRouters, UTMs, switches and wireless access pointsInternet connectivity - fibre, NBN and NBN-EEPoint-to-point and point-to-multipoint wirelessSupporting our comms team who utilise technology such as CCTV, PBX, VoIP, alarms and access controlSupporting our MSP team who utilise technology such as Hyper-V, Windows Server and workstations, Azure and AWSYour new role:Configuration and support of routers, switches and wireless across our and our clients' networks including Cisco, Ubiquiti, HP, Fortinet and MikrotikSupport of client connectivity, hosting and networking systemsEscalation and liaison with suppliers and service providers to resolve critical outagesEnsure relevant documentation is created and published to enable the support and maintenance of all networks and systems under our careEstablishment and maintenance of support tools, instructions, supporting documentation to maintain data communication servicesProvide technical guidance and support to Level 1 and Level 2 engineers as neededProvide valuable input affecting the outcome of business and infrastructure projects and relating data network servicesYou bring to the role:Usual networking knowledge around routing and switching hardware: configuration, troubleshooting and supportUsual systems knowledge around Linux and associated applicationsEnthusiasm and an eagerness to embrace new technologies and systemsDesign, plan and supervise new builds including stakeholder negotiationExperience with virtualisation, storage, high availability, network management and configuration desirableOur company focus is on the simplicity of design and replicability to ensure client networks and systems stay online and are maintainable.Your enthusiasm will be worth much to us and your desire to learn and participate will be welcomed.
