The Role HDR is looking for a Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) team.
This position will be based out of Melbourne Office, working on projects across a range of markets, primarily the Mission Critical sector.
This role will give you the opportunity to learn and grow, working as part of a supportive Commissioning Team including Electrical and Mechanical Leads across Sydney and Melbourne, as well as Project and Program Managers who will support your professional growth in the sector.
In the role of Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical, we'll count on you to:
Manage the commissioning process:Undertaking technical assessments of project schedules, drawings, manuals and technical submittals.Developing commissioning implementation plan, schedules, reports, checklists, and test scripts.Providing technical advice to clients in respect of project and operational risk.Working closely with general contractor's team in developing commissioning strategies and processes which align fully with project objectives.Managing attendance and reporting of factory tests.Undertaking and reporting of inspections and tests.Attending project and internal meetings as needed.Managing detailed recording of meetings.Recording of detailed progress pre-requisites.Routine population and management of data in project commissioning software.Providing routine progress reporting and final project close out report.Arranging third party sign off as necessary.Other tasks as required.Review and development of Commissioning documentation for Australia.Reviewing technical papers/reports before publication.Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience in commissioning or facility engineering, preferably working in Data Centre sector.Experience with equipment inspections.Experience with Factory Witness Test / Factory Acceptance Tests.Required Qualifications 4 years of industry experience dealing with mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines.Proven ability to lead commissioning efforts from design through project completion.Should have a passion for sustainability and knowledge of the commissioning process and experience with design, installation and operation of building systems (including but not limited to: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and controls).Must be willing to travel to site-based locations as reasonably based on HDR needs.Must have demonstrated ability to troubleshoot HVAC, TAB, and Controls and have excellent report writing skills.Must have a solid understanding of operational requirements, safety requirements, code inspections and maintenance considerations.Strong written, verbal communication and time management skills; exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to interact with people at all levels.Technical knowledge of MEP systems and HVAC expertise.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Multitasking ability.Valid driver's license.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.What We Believe HDR is our company.
