About UsThe Parklife Metro consortium, working in partnership with the NSW Government, is delivering a transformative metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.Our consortium, which includes Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens, and Webuild, is leveraging metro rail expertise to deliver this city-shaping project under a Public-Private Partnership model.
This will provide significant economic stimulus for Western Sydney.The RoleThe buyer shall conduct a market survey, compare the technical and economical assets, and deal with the applicants and suppliers in order to find the best technical and economical proposal related to the purchasing.
The resource will discuss with the Procurement Manager beforehand to issue any orders and will send orders to the suppliers.Complies with Webuild Group policies and procedures as amended from time to timeSupport the Material & Equipment Manager to define the strategyDefine the Vendor List, prepare the request for proposal to send to suppliers, and manage commercial and contractual negotiation activities with the identified Vendors to pursue savings, synergy, qualitative excellence, and lead time optimizationPerform cost analysis, comparison, and assessment of Offers, ensuring they are technically checked by requesting Corporate Departments/Operational Units.
Prepare summary tables of the final offers and recommendations in accordance with proceduresOperate in full compliance with the Project proceduresManage supplier relations, in compliance with the Company's Code of Ethics, its Organization, Management and Control Model, and its Anti-Corruption ModelExhibit excellent organizational and decision-making skillsMaintain a target-oriented approachEnsure the successful delivery of the Project within the required constraints for time, cost, quality, safety, environment, and the communityConduct market surveys, compare the technical and economical assets, and deal with applicants and suppliers to find the best technical and economical proposal for purchasingReview planned expenditure against budget and obtain approval for all procurementsBuild and maintain positive relationships with suppliersManage relationships and conditions with SuppliersWork with Department Heads to identify timelines required in the procurement of goods and servicesQualifications:Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experienceSpecialist Degree in EngineeringMinimum 3 years' experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role - preferredExperience working on large-scale construction projects or other suitable project worksSound knowledge of construction materials and strong experience within the heavy construction industryUnderstanding of construction materialsSound understanding of local and international import/export legislation or requirementsSound understanding of the NSW Government Procurement GuidelinesAttributes:Ability to manage personal stressSound interpersonal skillsGood negotiation abilitiesA strong commitment to a team-based environmentExperience in Microsoft Office and SAPStrong collaborative skillsStrong problem-solving abilityWell-developed time management skillsStrong teaching and coaching skillsSolid technical writing and communication skillsFlexibility and mobilityProcess-orientedAbility to work collaborativelyPay attention to detailHow to Apply:Please submit your most recent resume.Please note: Due to the high number of applications received, only those successful will be contacted.
