We are excited to announce an opening for a Publisher to join our Children’s Publishing team in Sydney starting February 2025. This role is responsible for growing titles in the Australian market, commissioning new works and authors, and delivering high standard books on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Commission titles and build relationships with authors and agents.
Discover new authors and maintain existing relationships.
Provide feedback and work collaboratively with editors and freelancers.
Create and manage acquisitions budgets.
Ensure timely production and quality of all books.
Foster internal relationships across marketing, sales, finance, rights, and production teams. As well as the contracts and royalties departments.
Collaborate with the sales team to meet acquisition expectations.
Write material for ATIs, catalogues, back cover copy, and sales information.
Attend book fairs, festivals, and conferences as required.
Promote a cohesive and innovative team environment.
Qualifications:
Relevant tertiary qualification
In-depth knowledge of book-publishing processes
Strong market awareness
Preferably experience as a Publisher
