We are seeking a motivated Coordinator Strategic Planning to lead and manage our dynamic Strategic Land Use Planning Team.
As the Coordinator Strategic Planning, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our municipality. You will lead the delivery of our Strategic Land Use Planning work program, oversee planning scheme amendments, and drive policy development to support sustainable growth. You will also represent Council in key forums, collaborate with stakeholders, and guide a team of dedicated Strategic Planners.
Key Responsibilities Lead and deliver Council's Strategic Land Use Planning work program and planning scheme amendments.Develop planning policies and ensure compliance with legislative and Council requirements.Represent Council in internal and external forums, including presentations to Independent Planning Panels.Manage and mentor a team of Strategic Planners, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.Support major strategic land use projects, ensuring efficient and effective delivery.Coordinate reporting, risk management, and continuous process improvements.Key Selection Criteria Tertiary degree/diploma in Planning or a related field.Significant experience in strategic land use planning and policy development, ideally within Local Government.In-depth understanding of the Victorian Planning System, relevant legislation, and best-practice planning principles.Effective negotiation and project management skills.Ability to solve complex planning issues and deliver timely, high-quality outcomes.Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Suite and GIS tools.Strong collaborative leader who can motivate teams and build positive stakeholder relationships.Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.Why work with us?
