You will work within a small growing team in an energetic and dynamic culture.
Your focus will be conducting desktop studies analyzing the feasibility of new project opportunities.The role will simulate solar fields and model what mix and spatial arrangement of heliostat systems returns the best results against variables including geomorphology, solar irradiance, location, receiver design and economics amongst other variables.Modelling ThermoOptical SystemsComputational simulationBuild, maintain and use the toolsYou will manage and own the 'Heliosim' modelling code base.The current tools are built in C++ on Linux.
Modifications have been carried out using C++ and Python.
You will make improvements working with C++ and Python source code and Workspace DP2 scientific workflows.Take charge of the tech transfer of the existing Heliosim modelling package from CSIRO to FPR Energy.
Become expert on the package and build on it to produce an engineering user-friendly interface and computational capability.YouQualifications:oin Science, Engineering, (computer/mechanical, process, chemical) or related field.
Maths desirable.Simulation and modelling:Experienced and skilled at using and building simulation modelling tools, including modelling CSPExperience in modelling heat transfer systems involving radiation transfer (including Monte Carlo method)Proficiency with software tools for simulation, both mechanical and fluids desirable3D modelling and meshing tools and CAD skills essentialSoftware:High degree of competence in Python mandatory.
