the RoleThe Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) is seeking a Senior Safety Advisor to join the Network Safety team.This role is responsible for leading and supporting the development of DTP's people leaders and managers in implementing health and safety policies, strategies, and frameworks.The position focuses on fostering a proactive safety culture across field activities within the department.Working closely with the Health & Safety Operations field team, you will contribute to safety improvements and ensure the effective delivery of health and safety initiatives.The role is based in Ringwood and offers an opportunity to make a tangible impact on workplace safety.Key ResponsibilitiesApply well-developed specialist knowledge to embed the required transformation in Occupational Health & Safety across DTP performing and engaging with field-based activities including high-risk construction (if appropriate) aiming to reduce and prevent workplace injuries and illness.Drive the implementation and delivery of health and safety programs that focus on critical and key risks, amongst DTP employees and contractors, and ensure targeted proactive risk solutions according to risk profile, health and safety data, industry data, and injury data.Provide DTP field-based support through business partnership OHS support and advice to enable the implementation and embedding of the safety activities driven from Network Safety.Partner with People and Business Services functions to support targeted evidence-based risk solutions to the right places including the analysis and reporting of relevant data to inform risk solutions and incident management and investigation.Drive and ensure the implementation of consistent, effective and robust solutions that will assist to continually improve performance, achieve business objectives and reduce financial cost including working collaboratively with DTP contract managers.Key Selection CriteriaThe Department of
