Our role: The Database Administrator (DBA)/Engineer (DBE) is an expert in Microsoft SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases and is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining databases for Objective’s SaaS (Software as a Service) application, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.This role will be a part of the CTO office and does not have people management responsibilities.
A day in your role:
1. Design, implement, and maintain databases for optimal performance, scalability, and security.
2. Collaborate with development teams to enhance database technology usage and proficiency.
3. Develop and maintain database schema, including data modeling, normalization, and denormalization.
4. Work with cross-functional teams to meet business database requirements.
5. Implement security, backup, and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
6. Optimize database performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems efficiently.
7. Maintain documentation, including database diagrams and technical documentation.
8. Ensure database schema aligns with application requirements.
9. Provide technical guidance and support to product development and technical team.
Your skills, experience and beyond:
10. Expertise in Microsoft SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
11. Experience with AWS and Azure cloud services.
12. Strong understanding of database design, data modeling, and normalization.
13. Proficiency with SQL Server Management Studio, pgAdmin, and MySQL Workbench.
14. Familiarity with agile methodologies and Git version control.
15. Skilled in SQL, PL/SQL, and Python scripting.
16. Experience in an Agile environment.
17. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
18. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
19. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
20. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
21. Certification in relevant database technology (, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, PostgreSQL Certified Database Administrator)
