About the role
The purpose of the Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Advisor is to lead the development and implementation of effective internal and external stakeholder engagement and communications to support the activities of the Legislation, Policy, and Information Services Division (LPIS) in the review, development, and implementation of legislative and policy projects.
The position plays an important part in ensuring stakeholder engagement encourages participation and feedback from government, regulatory, union and industry stakeholders to provide the public with confidence in the way Victorian workers’ compensation, health and safety, and dangerous goods are managed.
Key accountabilities
* Maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships, particularly employee and employer stakeholders, throughout the life of any legislative and policy projects.
* Provide prompt and considered written and/or verbal advice to the Manager, Stakeholder Engagement and Communications, senior management and business partners.
* Provide support on the stakeholder engagement process, and manage the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement and communications plans, and materials.
* Represent WorkSafe at multiple internal and external meetings and forums, both within metropolitan and regional areas across Victoria.
* Develop and deliver critical and timely communications/reporting to WorkSafe Board, Executives and Senior Leaders as well as external stakeholders.
* Work with the Manager, Stakeholder Engagement and Communications to oversee the involvement of LPIS personnel in the development and delivery of stakeholder engagement and communications across key projects.

About you
You are a communications professional, who has demonstrated experience in developing and managing stakeholder relationships. Your written communication and organisational skills are highly developed, allowing you to meet tight deadlines and rapidly changing priorities. You are a team oriented person who enjoys mentoring your team members and uplifting capability.
Additionally, you possess the following skills and experience:
* Demonstrated significant experience in developing and managing internal and external stakeholder relationships, especially influencing, negotation and presentation skills to drive shared outcomes.
* Demonstrated understanding of the processes and content required for stakeholder engagement.
* Proven ability to successfully consult on complex and sensitive issues.
* Exceptional formal communication skills (written and verbal) and a demonstrated eye for detail.
* Experience in developing communications plans, messages and materials.
