Employment type:
Permanent full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight or fractional appointment available. Hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Provide skilled Obstetric and Gynaecological services for patients of the North West within the limits of specified Clinical Privileges.
Details of Appointment
The maternity unit, housing the birthing suite and all inpatient maternity patients for the region, is located at North West Private Hospital (NWPH) in Burnie, with antenatal and postnatal services offered at both the NWRH and MCH. There are approximately 1000 births annually, and staffing includes experienced midwives. High-risk births are managed in conjunction with the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) and Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) supported by the local endocrinology and diabetic teams. The unit is supported by a Level 4 Neonatal Unit and an 8 bed Level 4 Intensive Care Unit.

The right applicants will play a key role in developing health care at both patient and system levels.
The Department of Health offers a comprehensive undergraduate and graduate clinical training program, with close ties to the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School. As such, you will be responsible for providing leadership and help with the delivery of the Undergraduate general medical education program.
You will have access to a salary package and a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Salary range: Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1 - Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $216,300 - $310,389.
* Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022.
Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $291,472 - $301,349 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022.
Allowances
* Provision of a fully maintained private plated motor vehicle or motor vehicle allowance of $28,389 per annum
* Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,480 per annum
* Allowance in lieu of Private Practice - 35% of base salary

* North West Recruitment and Retention allowance of 20%

* Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty
* Current Working with Children Registration
* Current Driver’s Licence
