Image Resources operated a highly successful mine and processing facility at its Boonanarring mineral sands project and has recently received approvals to commence works at its new Atlas Project which is located 180km north of Perth in Western Australia.The RoleAn exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Mine Geologist reporting to the Senior Production Engineer/Alternate Senior Site Executive for the Atlas Project. You will be responsible to implement, maintain and manage the daily mine geology activities.You will be responsible for:The development, implementation and maintenance of the site-based geology processes, systems and procedures.Collection and interpretation of geological data to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.Provide support to the mining team to optimise the extraction of the Ore Reserves to meet production targets.Develop, maintain and validate mineral resource models, grade control systems and geological databases.Monthly reconciliations.Plan and implement drilling programs to identify mineral distribution within the mine operation.Actively participate with the mining team to develop daily and production weekly production plans and ensure that these plans are implemented and completed.About youTo be successful in this role, you will have:Bachelor’s degree in Geology5+ years’ experience in mining geology roles including setting up of grade control and mine geology systemsExperience in mineral sands will be highly regardedKnowledge of geological databases and QA / QC systemsExperience using computer programs including but not limited to geological databases, GIS software and modelling softwareStrong sense of initiative, judgement and a degree of independence in identifying problems, finding solutions or preventative actions, and taking appropriate action to develop the capabilities, systems and performance of current mine production functionsStrong commitment to Environment, OH&S and duty of care.You will have a positive and energetic style, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.What’s on OfferThis will be a site-based DIDO role at the Atlas project in the Shire of Dandaragan, 2 ½ hours north of Perth and close to the coastal towns of Cervantes and Jurien Bay.The roster will be 5:2, 4:3, staying in brand new camp accommodation facilities or live locally and commute from Cervantes or Jurien Bay each day.Opportunities like this don’t come around often.
