Our client is seeking a mature, experienced, well presented, organised and highly motivated Store Person/Driver who enjoys being part of a small team. The role is considered an integral part of the company’s continued success and growth.
Duties include:
1. Stock receipt and dispatch
2. Deliveries of materials to both commercial building sites and private residences
3. Coordination of deliveries/logistics with external freight businesses, including interstate deliveries
4. Inventory control
5. Housekeeping and warehouse maintenance
6. Equipment maintenance
The role reports to the National Projects Manager. You will also work closely with the Managing Director, Proprietor, General Manager as well as sales and administration staff. You will liaise with external suppliers and sub-contractors. Through deliveries and dispatch activities you will also be liaising directly with customers which includes limited hand unloading of materials.
Candidate
The successful applicant must have proven skills in the following:
7. Warehouse organisation and management
8. Dispatch activities and customer deliveries
9. Be organised, proactive, hard working and hands on
10. Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety as it relates to warehouse operations and building sites
11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
12. Strong attention to detail
The successful applicant must have:
13. At least 5 years in a warehouse role preferably within the building construction industry
14. Experience unloading and working with sea freight containers would be an advantage
15. Forklift licence (LF class), driver’s licence and a light rigid driver’s licence. (A telehandler licence would be advantageous)
16. Understanding of equipment maintenance
17. The right to work in Australia
18. Be willing to participate in a police check and pre-employment medical check including drug and alcohol screening
A mutually suitable salary package including base salary and superannuation will be negotiated.
