The Role
Enjoy the Summer weather, working a 9-day fortnight from 7:00 am – 4:00 pm!
As a valued member of our Roads team, you will assist across any areas of the municipality with maintenance operations when and where work priorities demand, helping to achieve the overall maintenance objectives of the operations teams.
You will use your high level of skills and knowledge to perform a range of asset and infrastructure maintenance activities throughout the Latrobe City municipality.
Workdays will be starting and concluding at Latrobe City Council’s depot at Driffield Road, Morwell.
About You
We are seeking a dedicated all-rounder who is passionate about delivering high-quality work. Ideally you will have skills and experience across the range of plant and equipment typically used in the maintenance of roads, drainage and vegetation, however a mechanical, farming, trade background or other relevant knowledge will be considered
You will be friendly, approachable, and professional to be able to communicate with the public, clients, and other employees.
You will have:
* Current Heavy Rigid Vehicle License - Mandatory
* Construction Induction (White Card)
* Competency operating and maintaining plant and vehicles used in road maintenance such as tractor and slasher/reach mower, motor grader, skid steer loader, excavator, compaction equipment and flocon.
* Possess a basic level of digital literacy, with advanced level of digital literacy preferred.
Desirable:
* Current Traffic Control and Worksite Management certificate
* Current First Aid certificate (Level 2) and formal training in Occupational Health and Safety.
* Practical experience undertaking road and drainage maintenance and minor civil construction works.
Experience working with a Municipal Council or similar authority. All successful applicants are required to undergo a Police Check, Pre-Employment Medical Check and hold a valid employee Working with Children Check.
