Our project will enable approximately 1 million electric vehicles to go on the road, every year for the next 50 years.We are proud to foster a culture where people with different skills, experiences and backgrounds are welcomed and set-up for success.We support, empower and reward our people with a range of benefits:Competitive remuneration, and annual incentives for eligible employeesAccess to discounts, recognition and rewardsAccess to flexible work arrangementsDedicated wellbeing program support and discounted health insuranceEqual access to paid parental leave, financial support, return to work and parenting roomSalary sacrifice options for superannuation and novated leasingDiscounted FIFO parking with Perth AirportThe RoleThe Category Management Specialist is responsible for managing the nominated categories and Contract/Supplier relationships, leading the nominated Category projects from sourcing to through to Contract (S-C), knowledge of the sector, suppliers, market, and relationship management/development.You will ensure that all Contract activity meets Covalent's requirements, complies with all policies and procedures, and optimises "total cost of ownership" for Covalent, while also providing subject matter support to the Covalent Operational Teams while developing their specific tenders.This role is a Permanent Full-Time position based at our Kwinana Office.Key ResponsibilitiesUndertake all work in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with statutory requirements and Covalent policies & procedures.Comply with all health and safety, environmental and regulatory policies relating to the project and ensure a safe working environment.Conduct Strategic sourcing, search, and supplier pre-qualifications.In conjunction with the Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) (if applicable) ensure that you have sufficient information to formalise the relevant Scope of Work, Deliverables, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Risks, and ongoing metrics required to scope a Tender.Manage the end-to-end Tender process, including Commercial / Technical reviews, final negotiations, Stakeholder signoff and contract award.Liaise and coordinate with the Covalent Legal team to ensure appropriate terms and conditions and commercial outcomes are achieved on all Contracts.Liaise and coordinate with Covalent Finance team to ensure finance requirements (DOA) and risks are in place within contracts and escalated where required.Preparing recommendation documents for the relevant Covalent approvals; setting out a clear, well-supported business case for the award of contracts.Manage (coordinate) the ongoing successful contract/supplier management/relationship for the duration of the contract period.Build, maintain and manage strategic supplier/internal stakeholder relationships.Identify opportunities and synergies within Covalent and the current market.Provide strategic Category/Contract leadership and advice to Covalent.Identify sustainable and ethical sourcing opportunities.Drive continuous improvements for the nominated commodity/s.Provide insights and recommendations based on analysis, research, industry trends, benchmarking, and best practices.Provide training to all internal stakeholders about contract methodology and good practice.Ensure Contract registers are always actively managed and kept up to date.Liaise and coordinate with Covalent procurement team to ensure procurement requirements are achieved on all contracts.Support the Category Management Lead and Manager Supply Chain as requested.Role RequirementsA tertiary degree in Commerce, Engineering, Business or Law.Valid Drivers' Licence.6-10 years' experience establishing and managing high-value contracts in a mining/construction project environment.Excellent Commercial, Procurement and Contract Management skills.Previous Procurement/Purchasing Contacts related experience.Experience in managing contracts within SAP, or similar ERP Systems.Broad understanding of the procurement cycle.Previous high-level engagement in a business transformation project.Demonstrated tender and contract negotiation skills.Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with key suppliers & stakeholders.A competitive remuneration package commensurate with the role, candidate experience, skills and qualifications will be offered.Our team members are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work.
