Focus Minerals Geology team is rapidly expanding, and this role is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate geologist to gain experience and skills within the WA gold sector. The skills you will develop are integral to understanding mine geology.
The role is based in Coolgardie WA, an iconic mining town with a new accommodation village being built within the Coolgardie township. The FIFO roster is primarily an 8/6 dayshift rotation from Perth, with potential opportunities to undertake nightshift and supervise ore extraction.
The key responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to:
* Daily production requirements, such as ore spotting and geological data collection
* Exposure to ore stockpile management
* Mapping pit walls and geological logging of RCGC samples
* Supervision of drilling programs and liaising with mining contractors
* Installation and pickup for the “BMT” BVI process
* Report writing and presentation, generation of maps and plans, collate and present our data
* Utilise site QA/QC systems and document data
* Exposure to drill design, geological interpretation, block models and estimations
* Exposure and opportunity to learn mining software, such as Vulcan, acQuire and Leapfrog
* Assist in all areas of Open Pit production, mining and surveying
Skills and Experience
* Tertiary qualification in Geology
* Intermediate to advanced level MS Office Suite
* Valid WA C class manual driver's license
* National Police Clearance required
