Our client, a leading manufacturer in hydraulic erosion control systems, is seeking a dedicated Product Developer to help create and develop innovative products. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about engineering and design. As a Product Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing new products, ensuring they meet safety and compliance standards, and generating precise technical documentation for production. Your expertise will play a key role in maintaining high-quality product standards while improving existing designs to meet both functional and cost-effectiveness goals. You’ll work closely with the production manager, CAD designers, sales team, and customers to ensure successful product development. Key Responsibilities: Create and complete design briefs, including full specifications and artist impressions for new products. Identify and acquire components for new product development, and explore alternative components to reduce production costs. Finalise part and assembly drawings in PDF and DXF formats once modelling is complete. Build and rigorously test prototypes to ensure functionality and quality standards. Develop detailed owner’s manuals, spare parts manuals, assembly instructions, and diagnostic videos. Create operator training videos and other instructional content for product use and safety. Establish checklists and guidelines to ensure that all products meet the highest quality standards. Work closely with the production team, sales, customers, and end users for product feedback and improvements. Key Requirements: Strong proficiency in engineering principles, problem-solving, and mathematics. Excellent CAD (Solid Works) skills for 2D/3D drafting and design. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for both internal teams and external stakeholders. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Experience in project planning and execution, ensuring deadlines and project requirements are met. Knowledge of industry codes and standards for safety and compliance. Ability to think creatively and provide innovative solutions while staying current with industry trends. Precision in developing accurate technical drawings and documents. Highly organised with efficient time management skills to meet deadlines.
