Portfolio Director of IT | Crowne Plaza Sydney Coogee Beach Hotel Brand: Crowne Plaza Hotels & ResortsLocation: Australia, New South Wales, Coogee As Portfolio Director of IT, you'll ensure our technologies are installed properly, working efficiently, and that system security measures are in place. You'll partner with the hotel operation teams and work on technology innovation projects that align with IHG standards and guidelines to improve hotel operations and guest-facing solutions. Your day to day People Work closely with the portfolio General Managers and Portfolio Executive Team to understand business needs and how technology can drive the guest experience, revenue, and profitability. Work with IHG central support teams to administer all user IDs, passwords, and sensitive system utilities, securing all sensitive information and critical libraries. Ensure training needs analysis of staff is carried out and training programs are designed and implemented to meet business needs. Regularly engage with hotel management, Support Centre, and ownership. Work with IHG TMS offshore support team to handle Level 1 and 2 support calls when escalated to Field Service team. Thoroughly assess new and existing technology to determine whether it is fit for purpose to deliver within 24/7 operation demands. Proactively seek opportunities to differentiate the guest experience versus the competitor set, taking into account current and future guest mix demands. Keep informed of the latest changes, enhancements, and developments in the hotel computer field by subscribing to periodicals and attending seminars, workshops, or conferences held by IHG and external parties. Implement technology innovations in line with IHG brand and technology standards to support operations. Ensure guest-facing technologies are kept to brand standards and in good working order including guest internet, video on demand, key encoding, etc. Work with IHG support office to implement guest-facing technology to support operations. Lead technology innovation projects to support hotel operations. Responsible for the CAPEX budget for 6 hotels in the portfolio, from planning to approval and successful implementation of the CAPEX projects. Operational Create and maintain properties' technology plans. Coordinate and implement communications for all new applications/system installations and problem resolution. Provide project support for new implementations. Lead project work as needed. Provide end-user support to hotel staff and business center. Write proposals, analyses, projects, or cost models. Provide timely, accurate, and detailed status reports as requested. Forecasting and Complying within Budgets Ensure that property management has realistically budgeted and prioritized department operating budgets based on anticipated information technology projects and property support/needs requirements. Possess in-depth understanding of the financial dynamics of property operations and apply knowledge/judgment to assist management in achieving technology-related goals. Provide guidance to and assist properties in reviewing operating statements; research and resolve discrepancies in technology charges. Advise and ensure that property management has adequately addressed technology needs in short- and long-term planning. Workplace Health & Safety: Undertake all practical measures to identify, assess, control, and monitor workplace risks to health and safety. Be familiar with Workplace Health and Safety activities in the workplace by reading notices posted on company communication channels including noticeboards, emails, and social network groups. Attend training and drills related to Workplace Health and Safety and Security. Develop procedures and guidelines relating to specific workplace health and safety issues within your department. Evaluate colleague performance with reference to workplace health and safety responsibilities and performance standards. Undertake and deliver training related to health and safety for self and others in your department. Conduct accident and hazard investigations as needed. Implement corrective action arising from accident investigation and hazard reports. Ensure that onboarding induction and refresher training is carried out and recorded to ensure colleagues are competent to discharge allocated workplace health and safety responsibilities. Ensure health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives are promoted, facilitated, and communicated to the team. Where Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to control exposure to hazards in the workplace, ensure that PPE is provided, worn, and maintained as directed or as required in safety procedures. Report injuries, incidents, or illness arising from workplace activities to the Duty Manager immediately. Key Metrics Tech Ready Metrics, SLA and Project Targets, Quality and Guest Love Targets. What we need from you A formal qualification in Information Technology or related field. 10+ years' experience in Information Technology or related with at least 3 years in a related industry and proven regional and global experience gained in a recognized multinational organization. Solid understanding of employee relations practice and business acumen. High level of business savvy, change management, negotiation skills, and issue resolution. Advanced interpersonal, influencing, and consultative skills with strong leadership development capability.
