We are seeking dedicated individuals to work as a Cook to help us maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our care recipients.
Position: Cook
As a cook, you will prepare, cook, and serve meals according to set recipes and dietary guidelines, ensuring food is nutritious, properly portioned, and served at the right temperature. You will maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen, manage food supplies, and follow food safety regulations. Cooks often collaborate with management to improve the food service, meet special dietary needs, and ensure a positive dining experience for residents or customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and serve meals according to standardized recipes, ensuring appropriate portion sizes, textures, and nutrition, while maintaining food safety standards.
* Maintain high hygiene levels in the kitchen, including cleaning equipment and work areas.
* Support the Site Manager in providing quality catering services and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
* Ensure meals meet residents' dietary needs, including special requirements such as allergies, textures, and supplements.
* Assist in budgeting, stock control, and menu planning to meet organizational goals.
* Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations, including the Food Act 2006 and Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.
* Contribute to team leadership, providing guidance to ensure consistent quality in catering services.
Qualifications / Other Requirements:
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent;
* Previous aged care experience preferred;
* Understanding of food safety regulations and stock management.
* Police Check;
* Pre-employment medical assessment.
