The Position
We are currently looking for a Staff Specialist or Visiting Medical Officer in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery seeking a permanent role in New South Wales. This is a permanent full-time position until 30 June 2027.
The Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon will proactively:
* Support the development of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Services
* Support and facilitate a culture of learning and best practice
* Support and develop Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery research within the department.
Health Service
Just 90mins south of Sydney, this health district provides health services for around 400,000 people. It is one of the region’s largest employers with a workforce of more than 8,500 staff operating eight hospital sites and providing community health services from approximately 58 locations across the region. This is a short stay unit, primarily for crisis intervention for consumers with low to medium acuity mental health problems; and who are likely to require only a brief period (up to 48 hours) in hospital.

Essential Criteria
* Be registered or be eligible for specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Fellowship or eligibility for Fellowship via the substantial comparability pathway of the Royal Australian and College of Surgeons (FRACS).
* Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements.
