PSL6 Web Developer
Approximate 12-month non-ongoing contract| Canberra Location | $97,645 - $110,817 per annum plus 15.4% superannuation | Baseline clearance Desired
OVERVIEW
Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Web Developer to join their team. Within this role you will play a key role in the development and design of the department’s website's. The role will assist in the delivery of web projects and support the business-as-usual work of content publishers in the department, and ensure website's are responsive and accessible.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop, design and implement website layouts and user interfaces (including HTML/CSS templates) according to existing corporate styles.
* Build responsive and accessible website templates and deploy them in a Content Management System (both internally and externally hosted).
* Document the development and implementation of website layouts and templates.
* Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best practice web development methods.
* Test and problem solve new and existing web development.
* Provide support, advice and training to content publishers across the department in the use of web templates.
EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS
* Knowledge of Australian Government web standards.
* Knowledge and understanding of ICT security principles.
* Experience with content management systems including WordPress.
* Knowledge and experience with web applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, JQuery and API's.
* Knowledge of and experience in implementing web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG compliance).
* An understanding of web interface design and responsive front-end frameworks (eg Bootstrap).
* Strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.
* Strong communication skills, including the ability to develop good working relationships in a small team.
* Ability to manage priorities, organise work tasks and meet deadlines.
