This café is the newest Western Sydney hotspot, bragging a robust all-day menu, serving everything from scones to burgers. We are currently looking for a qualified Full Time Assistant Café manager to join our team. Joining Percy Plunkett TEAM means being part of a challenging and exciting work environment. You will be expected to maintain and improve company standards in every aspect, assist the café manager in overseeing food preparation and ensure the quality of all meals served to customers, collaborating with kitchen staff to develop new cooking methods, and innovating menu items. Streamline operations between the back of house (kitchen) and front of the house (service area) to ensure smooth and efficient service. Duties: Assist the café manager in managing the daily operations of the café to ensure efficient service, high-quality food, and a positive customer experience. Plan and coordinate seasonal promotions, events, and special functions to enhance customer engagement and drive sales. Assist the café manager in collaborating with chefs and kitchen staff to create seasonal menus, daily specials, and unique offerings that align with customer preferences and seasonal trends. Monitor the quality of food and beverages served, ensuring consistency, taste, and presentation meet café standards. Address customer feedback to improve services. Enforce strict sanitary and food safety standards for food handling, cleanliness, and café maintenance, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction and repeat business. Work closely with the café manager, owner or Director to establish sales forecasts, review expenditures, and manage budgets to ensure profitability. Work together with the café manager in organizing daily and weekly staff rosters, recruit new team members, and provide training to ensure staff meet performance standards and comply with café policies. Oversee inventory control, including ordering supplies, managing stock levels, negotiating with suppliers, and maintaining accurate purchasing and payment records. Ensure efficient cash handling processes and manage retail banking procedures. Regularly review and refine business processes to ensure accuracy and security. Manage reservation systems to handle customer bookings efficiently, ensuring a smooth flow of guests during peak times. Coordinate with the café manager to organize various functions (business functions, weddings receptions, parties, etc.) Ensure the café and staff adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards of service. Mandatory Requirements Relevant Diploma Qualification At least 1 - 2 years of working experience is preferred. Customer service oriented Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Able to lead and manage the team.
