Are you an experienced production specialist or radiochemist with a track record in the manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals? If yes, then we would love to hear from you.
The Cyclotron Facility at the Royal Darwin Hospital (RDH) is a state-of-the-art facility producing radioisotopes used in the Position Emission Tomography (PET) scanner. The Cyclotron is one of the most powerful of its kind in Australia, ensuring locally produced radioisotopes enable faster diagnosis and treatment for Territorians.
Currently, NT Health is recruiting a Senior Radiochemist (P3) and a Radiopharmaceutical Scientist (P2) to join the Cyclotron Operations team in RDH.
Both positions work with the Cyclotron facility and Medical Imaging teams ensuring high-quality radiopharmaceuticals are produced, both routinely and for research and development. Collaborating with a team of medical professionals and operating state-of-the-art equipment, you will participate in the production, quality control, and quality assurance of Fluorine and Gallium-based radiopharmaceuticals for routine and outside-of-routine production requirements. You will also ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards, work health and safety policies, and foster a positive workplace culture.

To be successful, you require tertiary qualifications in chemistry, pharmacy, or a relevant discipline, proven experience as a radiochemist working in a GMP environment manufacturing radiopharmaceuticals on cyclotron and synthesis modules. Demonstrated experience in optimization of radiolabeling protocols, yields, and purity to GMP standards is essential. To be appointed to the P3 position, you will need to demonstrate high-level expertise in the validation and management of GMP procedures for the production of radiopharmaceuticals.
