About the role
McConnell Dowell has an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Electrical Engineer to join our project team on the Groote Eylandt Wharf Remediation Project in the Northern Territory. This role plays a crucial part in the successful delivery of a critical project for our client.
This role is offered on a fly in fly out basis with competitive rates and allowances and will be based on Groote Eylandt, Northern Territory.
Responsibilities include:
1. Manage on-site electrical engineering functions through subordinates, which may include Project Engineers, Electrical Supervision, Sub-contractors and/or Cost/Planning support.
2. Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary.
3. Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, program workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.
4. Ensure that project engineering completion is on time and within budget. Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used and retain progress drawings.
5. Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards of supplier / subcontractor quotations / purchase orders as well as subcontractor arrangements.
About you:
6. Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
7. Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in a construction environment
8. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and industry standards.
9. Proficiency in using electrical design software and tools.
10. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
