About the Role
As our Café Team Leader, you’ll be the heartbeat of our Devonport Café. You’ll lead by example, inspire your team, and ensure smooth daily operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality and service. This role is full-time and perfect for someone with a blend of hands-on barista skills and fantastic leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and motivate a dynamic team of baristas, cooks, chefs, and café staff.
* Oversee daily operations, ensuring excellent service and product quality.
* Handle stock management, ordering, and inventory control.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace in compliance with health, safety, and food standards.
* Train and develop staff to enhance skills and foster teamwork.
* Assist with rosters and managing staff schedules.
* Provide exceptional customer service and resolve any issues promptly.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
* Proven experience as a barista or in a similar hospitality role.
* Leadership or supervisory experience in a café or hospitality setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A passion for great coffee, food, and customer experiences.
* The ability to multitask and thrive under pressure.
* Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
* Day-time availability between 7am to 3.30pm is essential.

Pay rates are set by the General Retail Industry Award. As a guide, the 2024-25 base hourly pay rates for level 4 adults (qualified trade) are:
* Weekdays $27.17
* Saturday $33.96
* Sunday $40.76
Casual:
* Weekdays $33.96
* Saturday $40.76
* Sunday $40.76
Additional penalty rates apply to public holidays and some overtime and early morning shifts. Please view the full Award for all applicable rates and allowances.
The annual salary range equivalent, based on a standard full-time roster, is $70,000 - $73,000 inclusive of superannuation.
