This Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Organisation (ACCHO) is currently seeking to fill the following vacancy within our Health and Wellbeing Services division. Their Wellbeing Service is committed to providing holistic health care to improve the health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Gold Coast & surrounding communities. The organisation has clinics located at Bilinga, Miami, Coomera.

About the Health Service:
* Maximum 14 patient appointments per day
* General appointment time of 30 minutes per patient
* Allocated administration time during the workday
* Set start and finish times daily (8.30-16:30)
* Dedicated 30 minute lunch break

Position Description:
This organisation is looking for a motivated General Practitioner who is dedicated to and passionate about providing high-quality, culturally sound health care within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. As a key member of the team, you will be working closely with the clinical team as well as providing a comprehensive client experience. You will play an integral role in ensuring clinical care is in line with national standards and fostering a culture focused on providing comprehensive patient-focused service. This is a full time position (Monday to Friday) based at the Coomera clinic, however, part-time applications will also be considered. This is a fixed term position from November 2024 to July 2025, with the possibility of extension.
You will be required to:
* Provide quality clinical services to clients in line with best practice standards
* Demonstrate commitment to the process of continuous quality improvement as an integrated aspect of service development and delivery
* Liaise with Clinical Nurse and/or Aboriginal Health Worker to ensure the clients experience is seamless
* Have strong knowledge and ability to optimise referral pathways to specialist and allied health services for clients
* Work closely with the Practice Manager and service team to anticipate and identify opportunities for expanding access to these services for clients
Qualifications & Experience:
Essentials:
* Vocational Registration
* Unconditional AHPRA registration
* Sound understanding of systems and processes required to sustain a high standard of clinical quality and safety
* Committed to the principles and practice of Aboriginal Community Control, and to improving the long-term health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families & communities
* Effective communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonal
* Ability to problem solve
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* Ability to work autonomously.
Desirable, but not mandatory:
* Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
Additional Information:
* This position requires the successful applicant to satisfy a national criminal history check and hold a current drivers' license.

Coomera is located at the northern part of the Gold Coast and is fast becoming a major urban community. Once known only as home to Dreamworld, the suburb is becoming one of the most sought after in the region. Coomera is central to both Brisbane and Gold Coast making it ideal for dual city employed families and couples. Devout boaties and fisherman have easy deep water accessibility as the Coomera River flows out to the Broadwater and Moreton Bay. The lower reaches of the Coomera River are highly developed with the inclusion of a number of canal estates. Further upstream, the land has been cultivated for crop growing, pine tree farming, cattle grazing and dairy farming.
