Spray Painter - Leadership Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Spray Painter to join our high-performing team in Ballarat as the 2IC on site. This role involves working hands-on with spray painting equipment, leading and coordinating the team to ensure production targets are met.
Key Responsibilities:
* Spray industrial equipment using airless, conventional, and high-volume low-pressure (HVLP) spray equipment.
* Mix and prepare paint to required quantities and specifications.
* Clean and prepare areas to be painted, ensuring a high-quality finish.
* Work with a production line methodology to assign team members to tasks and ensure deadlines are met.
* Read and interpret work sheets to ensure work is carried out to the correct standards.
* Manage quality control, fixing rework, and knowing the proper curing times for paint before sanding.
* Lead and motivate a team while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
* Attend meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
* Fully qualified Spray Painter with experience in using solvent-based paints.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, large-scale production environment.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, coordinate, and delegate tasks effectively.
* Resilient with the ability to handle tough conversations and deal with staff attitude when necessary.
* A high level of competency and attention to detail in all tasks, including rework and quality control.
* Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work well within a team environment.
* Previous experience working with large-scale industrial projects and different types of paints is essential.
