Nurse Level 8 (Remuneration Package Range $205,435 - $212,261)Office of the Chief Nursing and Midwifery OfficerOngoing or fixed vacancy availableDarwinOne vacancy is available, either ongoing or fixed for 3 years.As the Senior Director Nursing and Midwifery – Strategic Policy working within the Office of the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer of NT Health, your primary objective is to provide strategic and operational advice to influence contemporary nursing and midwifery practice across multiple regions of the Northern Territory.The role provides flexible, innovative system wide strategic policy advice and direction for the nursing and midwifery professions to the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer (CNMO), NT Health, and Minister for Health. The role leads, facilitates, monitors and reports on key outcomes within the NT Health Nursing and Midwifery Plan and provides support to manage the operations of the Office of the CNMO. The role will strengthen nursing and midwifery governance and advance nursing and midwifery research projects. The Senior Director Nursing & Midwifery - Strategic Policy represents the Office of the CNMO across a range of functions and meetings (internal and external) and may be required to backfill the CNMO during periods of leave/absence.Key Responsibilities:Leads and collaborates in the development, review, and evaluation of services, including interpreting established professional precedents and organisational policies, and supporting change management as required for operational effectiveness and delivery of contemporary safe and effective healthcare.Accountable for compliance with regulatory, professional, and organisational requirements, including establishing systems and accountabilities to monitor and address outcomes.Creditably advocate for nursing/midwifery and represent the profession(s) effectively within the NT and interstate.Demonstrate NTH values - safe; responsive; kind – in all decision-making and interactions with consumers and colleagues.Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.To be successful you will be registered with Ahpra as a nurse or a midwife and you will need highly developed knowledge and consolidated experience in nursing and/or midwifery models of care, as well as senior leadership. Demonstrated ability in policy development, strategic planning, leadership and change management are desirable.
