This position exists to support the transformation of Group Operations’ Data Analytics team into a data-driven service that can authoritatively deliver actionable insights that drive uplift in operational excellence and customer experience across the organisation.
The Senior Business Analyst – Business Insights will help build the data assets, data structures, and technological foundations essential to meet these transformation goals.
Some of the key accountabilities are:
* Develop proofs-of-concept and design these around a clear understanding of customer and stakeholder requirements.
* Contribute to underlying data management and modelling to ensure a sustained “data supply chain” that fully supports Group Operations reporting and analytics capability.
* Identify and embed best practice in reporting and data analytics disciplines leveraging relationships with subject matter experts (SMEs) from other reporting teams to keep abreast of new reporting tools and software packages in use across the Group.
* Lead stakeholders in the “Journey” by running workshops, keeping them informed with the right comms at the right times, and sustaining a collaborative work environment.
* Apply a deep understanding of business operations to support data-driven problem definition, hypothesis testing, root cause analysis, and shortlisting of solution options.
* Utilise market and broader Group data points to identify correlations with Group Operations data points to enrich the value proposition of group reporting services.
* Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to create a message that the audience is able to understand, absorb and feels compelled to act upon.
* Collaborate with teams across the broader Chief Operating Office group of GO to share business insights and identify opportunities to add value using data analytics.
* Data Education – promote a greater awareness and deeper understanding of the data analytics, ensuring Leaders have a good understanding of the value of data-driven analysis and decision-making applied to identifying opportunities to uplift business performance.
What do I need?
* Extensive experience in consultative business analysis.
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
* Data modelling and predictive/prescriptive analytics.
* Advanced user of analytical tools in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, VBA, etc.).
* Proficiency in one or more contemporary scripting languages (SQL, Python, R, etc.).
* Data “supply chain”: source-of-truth identification, data extract-transform-load (ETL), data repository and staging, report and analytics generation.
* Experience designing and developing in Power BI, Tableau, and Power Automate.
* Experience building low-code apps in Microsoft PowerApps.
