Job Description 2023 has seen WT secure a number of high-profile $billion + projects and in line with this unparalleled growth of our pipeline the Melbourne office is expanding, in particular the M&E business are looking for an established MEP Cost Engineer to join their talented team and work across a wide variety of build, construction and property projects.
Core Responsibilities: Develop and maintain cost estimates for engineering services on projects Conduct cost analysis on engineering projects and provide accurate estimates for materials, labour, and other expenses Prepare and submit detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects Advise project managers on cost-saving measures and cost-effective solutions Evaluate and analyze project plans, specifications, and contracts Analyze and review contractor bids to ensure accuracy and completeness Prepare bills of quantities for materials, labour, and equipment required for the project Work with engineers, project managers, and other project stakeholders to ensure that the project meets all requirements and regulations Manage contracts and agreements with suppliers and contractors Monitor and report on project expenses and ensure that project finances are properly managed Provide regular reports and updates to senior management and other stakeholders Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field Minimum of 2 years of experience in cost engineering or construction cost estimating Proven experience in managing complex engineering projects Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of engineering materials, building regulations, and construction methods Experience with estimating software and tools Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Additional Information At WT, in addition to your competitive salary we offer many perks including: Bi-annual bonus scheme- unlike other companies we offer discretionary performance bonuses TWICE a year Paid professional memberships- support in gaining and with your membership costs for RICS and AIQS Wellbeing days- time to focus on your wellbeing and the community If you're keen to and advance and broaden your career within the construction industry then this could be a great opportunity for you.
