The Role
As the WHS Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in fostering a safe work environment across construction sites. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Developing, implementing, and maintaining WHS policies, procedures, and safety management plans to meet regulatory standards
* Conducting regular site audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
* Leading incident investigations, including root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
* Training and supporting teams on WHS practices, promoting a proactive safety culture on-site
* Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal WHS regulations, as well as company-specific safety guidelines
The Ideal Person
The successful candidate will be a proactive, hands-on safety leader with:
* Proven experience in WHS management within the construction industry
* Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management, and compliance standards
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse teams
* Analytical and problem-solving abilities for effective incident investigation and prevention
* A Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or higher qualifications in WHS
