Skytrans currently operates a fleet of 13 regional aircraft including 7 Dash-8 aircraft, specialising in Regular Public Transport (RPT), charter services, and ACMI operations across the Asia-Pacific region, Far North Queensland and the Torres Strait.About the Role This is an opportunity for a motivated and highly skilled individual to join a leading aviation Company. You will ideally be a Dash 8 type rated, B1 or B2 Engineer looking to provide your technical services within our Continuing Airworthiness Maintenance Organisation.Reporting to the Continuing Airworthiness Manager, the role is offered on a full-time basis to provide technical support to our Part 145 department and for troubleshooting defects and assessing data for all types of defects for our fleet of Dash 8, and C208 Caravan aircraft. In addition to this, the Technical Services Engineer will also be responsible for deciding on the appropriate steps to be taken to ensure any disrupted aircraft are safely returned to service with minimal effect on the operation.This position is based in our Cairns head office located at Cairns International Airport.Key Duties: Monitoring performance of repair and overhaul agencies with the assistance of the Reliability AssessorProviding technical support to Part 145 as required and liaising with OEM and third party MRO facilities regarding technical queriesAdvising on new equipment and test equipment requirementsAssessment and management of avionic modifications requiring engineering orders complying with the relevant National AuthorityAssessment and management of structural defects/modifications requiring either Engineering Orders or OEM Repair Drawings (CASR Part 21)Monitoring Life Limited Parts (LLP) and liaising with Part 145 and Stores to ensure continued airworthiness of both fleetsAssessing, distributing and coordinating all maintenance data as required within the MDA processUploading and controlling revisions of documentation (i.e. Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins etc.) to the Company LibraryResponsible for the assessment and validation of components for use on the fleets within the Aerotrac systemMonitoring the engines for our fleet and coordinating maintenance as requiredSelection Criteria: CASA Part 66 B1 or B2 License or Aeronautical EngineerPrevious experience using Aerotrac or Oases is highly desirableAbility to prioritise workload and manage time effectivelyAbility to work independently with minimal direction and collaboratively in a team environmentExceptional communication skills, both written and verbalProven ability to maintain effective relationships with stakeholders internally and externallyHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailThe ability to function under pressure both as an individual and as part of a teamSuccessfully obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)Pass random and routine drug and alcohol screening for employment purposesHow to apply: If you have the skills and attributes we are looking for (or thereabouts) please submit your resume and/or cover letter ensuring you have appropriately addressed the selection criteria above.Please note: Applicants must be able to attend and successfully pass pre-employment and continuing medical, drug and alcohol pathology screening.
