The Client Our client is a Milk Production farm business located in Katunga, Victoria. They deal with the production of cow milk and have established themselves as a producer of high quality and fresh Australian cow milk. The Role They now seek experienced and skilled Senior Dairy Cattle Farm Workers / Dairy Cattle Farm Operators to join their team. This is a full time position with annual salary set between $73,500 to $75,500 plus superannuation, depending on experience. The Responsibilities Monitor dairy cows for signs of potential disease to ensure that all livestock remain in optimum health and produce high-quality milk Milk dairy cattle while ensuring livestock remain calm and comfortable so cattle continue to produce maximum quantities of milk Weigh cows and check for any physical signs of disease or injury and provide preventative medical care as needed Patrol, inspect, and report on cattle conditions to identify potential health issues for consistent milk quality Maintain cleanliness in pens, sheds, and milking areas to prevent disease and promote hygiene Provide feed and water, monitoring supplies to ensure cattle are well-nourished Develop feeding plans with nutritionists to optimize milk yield and cattle health Administer medications and vaccinations, coordinating with veterinarians as necessary Operate equipment to transport feed, water, and cattle efficiently Maintain trucks, tractors, and milking systems to prevent breakdowns Muster and move cattle to ensure efficient grazing and feeding practices Supervise junior workers in cattle handling, feeding, and milking Monitor and manage inventory of feed, medical supplies, and equipment Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across operations Record data on herd health, feeding schedules, and milk production for quality control Monitor breeding schedules and assist in calving to support herd growth Maintain pasture health by rotating grazing areas and monitoring grass levels Manage manure and waste disposal to maintain environmental standards Assist in farm planning and budgeting to support operational efficiency Coordinate with milk processing staff to ensure timely and quality product delivery The Requirements In order to be shortlisted for this position, the right candidate needs to have: A certificate III or IV in agricultural and/or animal husbandry related qualification is required At least 2 years of equivalent skilled experience Be physically fit and healthy Good communication skills Demonstrated organisation skills Ability to work in a team and can take direction Strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously Proven track record of reliability- references required Demonstrated knowledge of the best safe work practices Have positive past employment work references
