About the Role As a Cook in our aged care facility, you will play a key role in providing nutritious, high-quality meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents.
Meal Preparation : Plan and prepare meals that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of our residents, including those with special dietary requirements.Kitchen Management : Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations.Team Collaboration : Work closely with kitchen staff and other team members to deliver a seamless dining experience.Key Responsibilities Develop Menus : Create diverse and balanced menus that cater to the tastes and dietary needs of residents.Maintain Hygiene Standards : Ensure all food handling and kitchen practices adhere to strict hygiene and safety standards.Inventory Control : Manage inventory, order supplies, and minimize food waste through efficient practices.Resident Engagement : Interact with residents to gather feedback and adjust menus to enhance satisfaction.What We're Looking For Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably in aged care or healthcare.Knowledge of food safety standards & hygiene practices in a commercial kitchen.Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.Strong time management skills and a proactive approach to kitchen duties.A caring and respectful approach to working with elderly residents.Requirements One year's experience as a commercial cook, working in a hygiene-controlled environment.A current National Police Certificate, NDIS Worker Screening Check (or the ability to obtain).Importantly, you will be someone who closely aligns with our organisational values of : Unconditional Love, Continual Innovation, Mutual Trust, Wise Stewardship and Safety.
