The Assistant Head of College – Learning and Teaching (Middle Years) is an educational and spiritual leader of Marist College Ashgrove with delegated responsibility for all academic outcomes of students, especially, NAPLAN improvement for years 5, 7 and 9.The Assistant Head of College - Learning and Teaching (Middle Years) is a member of the College Leadership Team with delegated responsibility for the academic wellbeing of students in Years 7-9. Remuneration is as per the Senior Leadership Scale of the Catholic Employing Authority Single Enterprise Bargaining Agreement Religious Institute Schools of Qld 2023 – 2026 .The successful applicant will be appointed for a period of five (5) years, renewable for a further five (5) years on the completion of a successful performance review.The ideal applicant will have the following:Role Specific Tertiary level graduate qualification in Education (essential) and post-graduate qualifications at Masters level.Experience in Middle or Senior Leadership roles within schools.Experience in leading and improving student and teacher outcomes in learning and teaching, especially literacy and numeracy outcomes (for example NAPLAN).Meet all compliance requirements as an educator in Queensland.A current National Police check. Management and Leadership Ability to lead, manage and develop cohesive staff teams.Vision and success in the development and management of operational aspects of a 5 – 12 College.Strong sense of self-awareness and the ability to use it to lead by example. Communication and Interpersonal Skills Supportive of Marist College's ethos and a willingness to embrace the total life of the College.Proven track record of working collaboratively within a team.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to model optimism and a growth mindset.Driven by a genuine service ethos and able to inspire the same in others.
