The Journey and opportunity
This Sr. Experience Design role is for Journey Borrow.
Journey Borrow consists of 20+ designers (Strategic & Service Designers, Experience Designers and Content designers). We assist in defining lending products and own the end-to-end experience. On the Digital experience side, we craft detailed design solutions for products that meet Consumer and Business needs across various divisions of the Bank.
This Senior Experience Designer role will collaborate with multiple designers within the Journey Borrow team to support Financial Crime initiatives and Business customers. This position is essential to ensure we meet our regulatory commitments while following a robust design process that ensures an exceptional customer experience.
The Role
As a Senior Experience Designer, you are an experienced individual contributor that can begin to think more strategically; focusing not just on how to solve a problem but also helping to explore and define the problem to be solved. You will work closely with Leads to align digital delivery decisions with CX and platform strategy to help inform discovery of strategic initiatives.
You will likely assume individual mentoring or coaching responsibilities and actively contribute towards workflow improvements and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
The role responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Inspire and mentor junior team members, sharing subject matter knowledge, skills and experience to help support others
2. Support value streams and cross-functional squads to identify opportunities to solve problems aligned to customer needs and conceptualise solutions to inform the roadmap
3. Facilitate workshops and co-design sessions to help define the problem-space, support cross-functional collaboration, and drive meaningful ideation to solve customer problems
4. Use storytelling to communicate design rationale, collaborate with cross-functional teams and define detailed solutions
5. Own on the job design decisions whilst actively sharing work with the team for feedback, direction and progress updates to ensure consistent quality outcomes
6. Work with XD Researchers and Data Analytics to lead research briefs and methodologies to help gain actionable insights - including actively mentoring junior designers
7. Support research operations including recruitment, facilitating testing sessions and actively contribute to analysis and synthesis
8. Help to improve design workflows and inform process of how we work to produce design documentation with measurable outcomes
9. Drive engagement with the design systems team to enable other designers to effectively leverage the component libraries and improve workflows for continuous improvement
10. Mentor other designers to help broaden the teams capabilities and grow those around you within your subject matter expertise
11. Take an active role engaging and sharing knowledge within the design community
Experience
1. Minimum of 5+ years experience in the digital product design field
2. Experience with Financial Crime and/or Business customers is highly desirable
3. Experience working autonomously on strategic initiatives
4. Extensive experience working collaboratively within cross-functional stakeholders
5. Strong emotional intelligence is necessary with an ability to listen, be curious and empathise with an ability to influence
6. Ability to deal ambiguity and adapt to change
