Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant
Join a global investment bank and asset management firm in Melbourne as a Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant on an initial 6-month contract, with potential for permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-level client service and be the first point of contact for accounting and tax queries.
* Prepare and review financial statements and templates.
* Prepare and review trust distributions, superannuation fund tax provisions, tax returns, and BAS returns.
* Identify and improve current core processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and industry trends.
* Work closely with the Financial Reporting and Tax manager on new product developments and process improvement projects.
* Oversee offshore teams' output and performance.
Requirements:
* CA or CPA qualifications highly regarded.
* Tertiary degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or related fields.
* 5+ years of relevant experience.
* Prior experience working within a Custodian, Superannuation fund, or Investment Manager accounting/tax team.
* Demonstrated understanding of regulatory reporting requirements – APRA, ABS, BAS, PAYG.
* Technical understanding and practical application of accounting and tax concepts related to Managed Investment Schemes (MIS's) and Superannuation funds.
* Understanding of different trust structures and entity types.
* Proficiency in utilizing financial statements and tax reporting system tools, including Excel.
