The Role
The Chief Radiographer position is a leadership role in the Department of Medical Imaging, responsible for the management, planning and evaluation of the medical imaging service, contributing to strategic service development and meeting the accreditation standards with a quality imaging service.
Working within the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) – Hospitals South, based in the State’s tertiary referral centre, Royal Hobart Hospital – you will work alongside the Department of Medical Imaging leadership team to develop, strengthen and support the radiographer/sonographer workforce, providing clinical leadership, professional support and ensure quality standards are achieved. You will also take a lead role in managing the physical resources within Medical Imaging. The position supports the Clinical Director by overseeing clinical operations of Medical Imaging service.
This position offers the collaboration with other services such as Surgical and Perioperative Services, Medical and Cancer Services, Cardiology, Emergency and Women’s and Children’s Services across Hospitals South. The key duties in the role are:
1. Provide leadership and direction in the management of Medical Imaging services for the RHH and its off-site facilities, including the development, formulation and implementation of service delivery policy, strategic planning, efficient management of human, financial and physical resources, clinical governance, quality assurance, risk management and accreditation requirements.
2. Oversee the provision of clinical leadership, professional support and best practice standards, in accordance with organisational policies and professional codes of conduct for imaging services provided in a multidisciplinary environment
3. Ensure as part of the Senior Management Team and in collaboration with Operations Manager that there is a collaborative and integrated approach to service delivery across the Department.
4. Accountable for the provision of a quality medical imaging service to patients including ensuring that images produced meet the standards set by the Director Medical Imaging.
5. Promote a clinical environment conducive to the maintenance of positive working relationships at all levels.
Details of Appointment
Permanent, full time, day work (with oncall), working 76 hours per fortnight.

Salary: $149,529 - $151,406 per annum + 11% superannuation
7. Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No 2 of 2022

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
