Position Overview:
An Oral Health Therapist is a dental professional focused on promoting oral health, preventing dental diseases, and providing treatment services. They work collaboratively with dental teams to deliver comprehensive care to patients, particularly children and adolescents, while also engaging in community outreach and education.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Conduct oral health assessments and screenings.
Perform preventive dental procedures, such as cleanings, sealants, and fluoride applications.
Assist in the diagnosis and management of common dental conditions.
Provide treatment for periodontal diseases and oral hygiene education.
Education and Prevention:
Educate patients and families on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
Develop and implement community oral health programs to promote awareness and prevention.
Collaboration:
Work alongside dentists, dental hygienists, and other healthcare professionals to create treatment plans.
Participate in case discussions and provide input on patient care.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Document treatment provided and progress made.
Continuing Education:
Stay current with best practices in oral health therapy and participate in professional development opportunities.
Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Oral Health Therapy or equivalent qualification.
Licensure: Valid dental therapy license in the practicing jurisdiction.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Proficiency in using dental technology and software.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Work Environment:
Work is typically conducted in a clinical setting, with some community outreach responsibilities.
May involve working with diverse populations, including children and patients with special needs.

Pay: $50.00 – $70.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
