This opportunity involves elements of design work mixed with hands-on mechanical and production activities (assembly, test, manufacture etc).Benefits & PerksCreative and innovative style work not limited to a deskDevelop systems to be launched and operated in space, around Earth or on the MoonBe part of a small team that thrives by individuals playing to their strengths and supports you to shape the business based on your unique interestsFlexible work arrangementsOpportunity for travel, training, and networking through attendance to conferencesInspire future generations through STEM and outreach events.Duties & Responsibilities of the role:Assist in assembly, integration, and testing hardware systemsPrepare manufacturing documentation and coordinate component orderingDevelop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures around production activitiesDesign mechanical components for CNC machining or 3D printing, including generating manufacturing drawingsDesign simple electronic PCBs to support product testing and manufacturingManufacture and test electrical harnessesAssist electronic subsystem assembly and debuggingMaintain documentation such as assembly plans, test procedures, and reportsWork in a cleanroom environmentManage facility maintenance and consumables stock.About your skills, experience, and qualification:Australian Citizenship or Permanent ResidencyBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in electronics engineering, mechatronics engineering, or a related fieldProficiency in Python scripting and basic knowledge of Linux systemsStrong skills in hardware testing, debugging, and using electronic test equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analysersInitiative to devise and design test equipment to facilitate and automate AIT activitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsUnderstanding of quality control standards and processesStrong adherence to procedures, ensuring top-notch product quality.If you are interested, please send us your CV and a cover letter outlining what you would bring to the team to fulfil the role and responsibilities.
