About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Thrift Shop Manager to oversee and lead the operations of the Thrift shop ensuring quality customer service, diligence in cash handling and banking, quality sorting of donated goods, pricing and maintaining the general appearance and upkeep of the shop.
Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a permanent, part-time (32 hours per week) position based in Colac,VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the General Retail Industry Award.
You will successfully
* Maximise sales and revenue through processing of donations to the store by receiving, sorting, pricing, hanging of saleable goods and disposal of non-saleable goods
* Delegate responsibility for collecting items to volunteers or manage collections during working hours and ensure these are completed in a timely manner
* Implement stock and mannequin rotation as well as stock management processes to ensure optimal store stock levels are maintained to maximise sales and revenue
* Ensure shop is presentable and always inviting through appropriate measures
* Implement appropriate retail sales opportunities internally and externally to maximise sales including in store promotions, attending periodic or seasonal local markets
* Provide training, guidance, direction and feedback to all staff including undertaking formal performance management, supervision meetings and conflict resolution
* Lead a safe workplace through the ongoing promotion of work health and safety standards
You will have
* A Current Victoria Driver Licence
* The physical ability to safely sit, stand, walk regularly and for long periods of time
* The physical ability to push, pull, lift, carry items up to 10 kilos in weight
* The physical ability to climb ladders
* 2+ years of demonstrated and relevant retail industry experience.
* Experience in retail management (desirable)
* Demonstrated skills and experience in cash handling, financial management and team leadership
* Prior experience in a charitable recycling retail operation (desirable)
* Completed First Aid (PFA) training
