An exciting and unique opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join the Strategic Communications, Engagement and Protocol branch (SCEP) as Senior Adviser, Protocol and Events at the Department of Premier and Cabinet. The Protocol and Events team provides advice on matters of protocol, state and national observances and conventions. The team delivers ceremonial and special events of state significance and international visits; manages the planning and implementation of various major events and programs; and is responsible for the administration of significant awards programs in Victoria. This role involves working with senior internal and external clients and stakeholders to plan and deliver a diverse suite of high-profile events and programs; providing support and advice on matters of protocol and event delivery and overseeing the delivery of the day-today protocol undertakings required of government. As Senior Adviser, Protocol and Events you will join a high functioning and collaborative team who set the stage for the delivery of high level state significant events. You will enjoy a diverse and varied role leading events from start to finish in a dynamic environment. To be successful in this role, you will be client-focussed, have extensive stakeholder management skills, strong project management and event delivery experience. Previous experience in the delivery of events or international visits in a government context would be advantageous. About you As our ideal candidate, you will bring: Demonstrated experience and competence in high-level project management, planning and delivery of events and programs for a range of senior stakeholders, with varying levels of complexity and scale. Excellent written communication skills and ability to prepare complex briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language. Highly developed skills in planning and managing risks and ensures the use of honest, transparent and appropriate purchasing processes, including proficiency in managing contracts and complex project budgets. A proven ability to develop strong, productive partnerships and engage key stakeholders. Demonstrated experience with all aspects of domestic and international protocol.
