JOB DESCRIPTION
To solve important problems we need diverse talent. Our people use their creativity, authenticity and human differences to be champions of change. When people from diverse backgrounds, with different points of view, work together, we create incredible value - for our clients, our people and our society.
Our Deals Business Recovery Services (BRS)team are experts at transitioning businesses from underperforming or troubled situations to a stable platform for growth. Our work usually begins with a commercial and/or financial review to develop a plan, then work to transition and stabilise businesses via a combination of a turnaround, cash management, or an operational or balance sheet restructure. We are experts at managing difficult stakeholders and complex situations with projects simultaneously focusing on cash, profitability and balance sheet outcomes. If required, we restructure companies via a formal insolvency process. In these situations, we have experience in some of Australia’s most complex insolvencies, always striving to sell the business as a going-concern to preserve value.
Joining our BRS team presents a unique opportunity to be the key point of contact for clients and other key stakeholders and develop a wide range of practical business skills including team leadership, financial analytics, dispute resolution and negotiations.
As an Insolvency Manager in our BRS team, your impact will be seen by:
* Having day to day responsibility for crisis management and turnaround activities for a wide range of businesses across all sectors
* Preparing and/or reviewing financial analysis alongside the drafting of reports and presentations, including (where appropriate) use of data & analytics to underpin your findings. In typically tight timeframes, you need to be a key contributor to assessing and communicating the current financial position of a business and therefore the options available to stakeholders
* Day to day management of businesses under external administration and/or asset recovery processes, including identifying and mitigating risks associated with restructuring and insolvency engagements
* Dealing with a wide range of stakeholders in distressed situations, from boards, to financiers, to employees, to government agencies, and more
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices
* Contributing to our collaborative team culture through delegation, mentoring and coaching of staff to deliver positive outcomes for our clients, both on projects and more broadly
* Bringing your unique skills and interests to improve outcomes for our clients, people and practice. This will include the ability to deal with the wide range of stakeholders applicable in distressed situations, from boards, to financiers, to employees, to government and many more.
Requirements
* You will have experience in financial analysis and investigations across multiple engagements and are practical in applying this to real world situations.
* Good time management, delegation and team communication skills will hold you in good stead for this dynamic environment.
* Team player with a positive “can do” attitude to challenges who is able to work under pressure across multiple engagements.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills coupled with excellent analytical and communication skills are a must, and a basic understanding and enthusiasm towards using data, analytics and visualisation tools, eg PowerBI and Alteryx
* You will have solid professional experience and exposure to formal insolvency and/or turnaround situations. A Chartered Accountancy qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
It’s time to move forward. And upward.
You want to lead teams with impact and create meaningful change in a place with the flexibility and reward you need to make your life work away from the office.
We’ll give you a career-defining leadership role that:
* Is strong on growth and reward and provides meaningful work and leadership opportunities
* Has competitive and transparent salary packages with the opportunity for yearly bonuses and promotions
* Provides strong mentors, meaningful work and plenty of networking opportunities
* Supports you to grow your leadership skills with our Academy, study support and access to strong mentors across our global network
* Helps you prioritise your life outside of work, with lifestyle and wellness benefits up to $500 a year
* Prioritises new families with 26 weeks of parental leave
