Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) is an evolving area in healthcare focused on improving the overall quality, completeness, timeliness, and accuracy of clinical documentation in medical records to support improved interdisciplinary communication and the ongoing delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
It also supports accuracy in the clinical coding process, promotes adherence to quality and safety standards, as well as ensuring appropriate reimbursement for the complexity of excellent care we provide to our patients.
The Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS) role is a position that drives best documentation practices within your hospital.
As a CDS, you will use your clinical expertise to influence the quality of clinical documentation at the point of care to ensure the goals of the national CDI program are reached, improving quality and safety for our patients in the process.

Who are we looking for? This is a great opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to step into a new role away from day-to-day clinical operations, using their considerable expertise focusing on CDI.
We are looking for a dynamic candidate who is a great communicator capable of driving change and improved outcomes for our patients.
As part of this new and developing field, Healthscope has partnered with external consultants who are experts in the field to assist us with education and onboarding of new starters to ensure that you are well equipped and supported as you take on this CDI journey.
You will also be part of a broader national network of CDS team members all dedicated to help each other and grow together.
