The opportunity We are seeking a Sourcing Analyst to support our Gladstone assets to deliver commercial strategies and sourcing projects.
This role involves close collaboration with key project stakeholders in Gladstone, collaboration with our PacOps sites across the east coast of Australia, and engagement with Rio Tinto Procurement and corporate functions.
This is an exciting, permanent opportunity within a flexible workplace environment with the option to work a 9-day fortnight.
What the role entails In the role you will develop and execute tender activities in support of our Gladstone sites and related global spend portfolios.
You will deliver value by utilising Rio Tinto's sourcing methodology and delivering safe, efficient, and effective best total value outcomes.
You will be joining an experienced Procurement team to deliver on this exciting opportunity.
Reporting to the BSL Sourcing Specialist, your role will include:
Promote and practice a safe, healthy and environmentally responsible work ethic that promotes a safe and incident free workplace.
Collect and generate information and quality data about the sources and drivers of value creation through procurement.
Complete procurement risk assessments.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies.
Develop and release tender packages.
Evaluate supplier proposals.
Develop and execute negotiation plans.
Prepare contractual documentation.
Manage award approvals and contract execution process.
Work closely with other Procurement team members, both globally and within regions, to align sourcing requirements and outcomes with business needs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Operate supplier performance management processes.
Manage day-to-day integration processes with suppliers.
Foster trust through open, transparent relationships and effective supplier management.
What you will need for this role To succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

Experience in procurement including sourcing, tender preparation, evaluation, negotiation and contract execution.
Sound level of knowledge in procurement processes and principles with strong influencing, stakeholder engagement and change management capabilities.
Ability to work flexibly in a high-pace role, managing deliverables and stakeholders whilst maintaining autonomy and self-motivation.
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience or understanding of SAP software, Ariba, MCi Track and Microsoft applications.
It will also be beneficial if you have Procurement qualifications or training.
Previous work history on an operational site will be highly regarded.

Where you will be working Rio Tinto Procurement supports both Boyne Smelter and Rio Tinto Yarwun Alumina Refinery, with the role being based in Gladstone, Queensland.
