The Eva Copper Mine (ECM) is located in North West Queensland approximately 75km north-west of Cloncurry. The greenfield Eva Copper Mine Project is a significant and strategically important project for Harmony Gold Mining Company Pty Ltd.The Project will be the largest mining operation in North West Queensland with a minimum mine life of 15 years and will involve mining multiple open cut pits providing copper bearing ore to a concentrator. The project is permitted, and the mine site will include development of these pits, a copper concentrator, associated processing and non-processing services and infrastructure including tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, water management facilities, power generation and accommodation village.Harmony is currently preparing to progress the Execution Phase of the Eva Copper Mine Project in support of achieving near term 1st production and are seeking highly motivated and experienced people to join our growing project delivery and operations teams. The Execution Phase will commence with front-end engineering and design, and in parallel preliminary site works will also be progressed in support of full project execution post final investment decision. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of defining, building and operating a major forward-facing metal mining operation that will offer employment opportunities across the project life cycle, from project definition and delivery into operations.Reporting to the IT Project Manager, the Senior Network Engineer for the Eva Copper project will play a pivotal role in designing, integrating, and delivering robust IT and OT network infrastructure and systems. This role requires a strong focus on compliance with statutory requirements and adherence to the company's safety, health, and environmental standards and procedures.This is a maximum term role with a completion date of 01 April 2028, with possibility to transition to the operational stage.Responsibilities include:Engage and interface with key stakeholders on the ProjectDevelop scopes of work and tender packages for construction and operations ICT Network infrastructure.Undertake tender evaluations and recommendations to award; Oversee contractual negotiations and tender award.Review and approve vendor technical design submissions and project delivery plans.Responsible for the detailed design of the construction and operations core network infrastructure for the corporate network, operational technology network and process control network.Update and maintain the ICT project scheduleAdhere to the projects engineering, procurement, safety, quality and information management policies.Attend vendor site for factory acceptance testingConduct regular site visits during the construction and commissioning phases of the project, witness and approve site acceptance testing, assist in commissioning activities as required.Accept responsibility for correcting unsafe acts and conditionsAction assigned tasks with a focus on quality and timelinessProvide accurate and timely project reporting to the ICT Project Manager on the status of the project milestonesEnsure ITIL best practices are implemented as agreed with ICT Project ManagerDeliver quality technical design, IOM's and maintenance documentation for operationsMaintain the IT Configuration Management Database (CMDB)Close out all project activities following commissioning and handoverAbility to work unsupervised in a hazardous mining environment.Identify and report hazards and incidents and take responsibility for correcting unsafe acts and conditions.Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a safe working environment.Understand and adhere to statutory requirements and company procedures.What you will bring to the role:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.10+ years' experience in system design and integration, or similar role.Extensive experience in the mining industry, both construction and operations.Proficient in detailed network design, specifically; Server and storage, core network, operational technology, process control, firewalls, end point security and disaster recovery.Proficient in network / system configuration, integration and management.Apply Cybersecurity standards and policies.All round project management skills including design management, tender preparation, assessment, and coordination through to handover.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.Hands-on experience with network equipment and protocols such as Fortinet, Cisco, SDWAN, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VPN.Advanced troubleshooting skills in a high-availability environment.Experienced in communications systems such as Private LTE, Microwave, Network security, SASE, SD-WAN, CCTV, Access Control and Process Control Networks.Cisco - CCNA/CCNPITIL - (IT)Fortinet Certified Professional and/or Cisco CCNP qualifications.Personal Attributes & Abilities:A sense of adventure - this isn't your typical basement dwelling network engineering role.A love of highly reliable, documented, automated, elegant, scalable network solutions.Proactive approach and work ethic.A friendly and sociable personality who loves working with others to achieve common goals.Enjoy training and coaching others.Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Diligence and accuracy.Great planning, organizing, and time management skills.Location:This role will be based in our Milton Project office in Brisbane with regular travel to our site in Cloncurry.
