Prince William Public Libraries brings people, information, and ideas together to enrich lives and build community in a welcoming, inclusive environment.About This Role:Assists with, plans and conducts library programs and collaborates with staff to present weekly story times, programs, tours, and outreach for youth of all ages and their families.Assists patrons of all ages at public service desks providing information and circulation help, reader’s advisory and technology assistance.Assists with collection maintenance, maintaining Children’s and Teen items.Creates eye-catching displays and promotional materials to promote the library’s physical collection and online resources in support of youth programming.Represents Prince William Public Libraries at outreach events.Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in library and information science.Preferences:Experience planning and conducting successful library programs for children and teens.Experience providing reader’s advisory to children, teens, and families.Experience planning and conducting story times that include/demonstrate the concepts of early literacy.Experience at a public service desk providing information and circulation help and assisting with library technology.Experience creating displays, passive programming, and promotional materials to support the library’s physical and digital collections and resources.Experience providing technology assistance to patrons to include computers, printers, copiers, smart phones, tablets and e-readers.Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Teams and Webex.Special Requirements: The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.Work Schedule: This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week position. The schedule will include days, one evening a week and rotating Saturdays.
