We are looking for an experienced Consultant to join Adelaide’s leading tax practice in our Private Tax team.
It’s an exciting time to join our high performing and rapidly growing team. The role will deliver great opportunities for you to work across a range of privately owned clients including entrepreneurial start-ups, established private businesses and high-net worth individuals and family groups to help shape and enhance business strategies and solve tomorrow’s tax problems today.
In this role, you will work across multiple projects and clients, both autonomously and as valued member of our team, including opportunities to collaborate with our global tax network. At EY, the Private Tax team is at the heart of the client relationship, and by joining our team you will be mentored by some of the best in this field to gain the skills and experience to become a trusted advisor, bringing the best of EY to our clients to deliver value add solutions and insights.
Your key responsibilities
Demonstrate your passion for tax within our EY Private Tax team, leveraging your 1+ years’ experience in Tax or Business Services, while EY supports your studies in the CA qualification. You will be central to assisting in delivering pragmatic solutions to help our clients solve complex income tax challenges and efficiently manage their tax compliance responsibilities. Your responsibilities will encompass:
1. Supporting tax account leaders delivering adivce to high-net-worth individuals, family businesses, and their owners on intricate tax matters, including restructures, capital gains tax, Division 7A, and trust losses.
2. Preparing tax compliance (financial statements and income tax returns) and providing year-end tax planning services for entity types such as trusts, companies, partnerships, and individuals.
3. Supporting tax account leaders to facilitate and manage client ATO dealings, including the Top 500 and Next 5000 programs.
4. Applying your accounting and tax expertise across various sectors of the Australian economy.
5. Assist in effectively managing a client portfolio and cultivating strong client relationships.
6. Role model for graduates, future graduates, and vacationers.
What we’re looking for

7. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting
8. Commenced or in the process of completing a CA (or equivalent) qualification
9. Minimum 1+ years relevant experience providing Australian tax compliance or business advisory services to corporate entities, trusts and individuals
10. Demonstrated understanding of accounting concepts and experience in preparing financial statements
11. Strong written and verbal communication skills
12. Sound time management skills, attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines
13. The ability to work autonomously, within a team and with our clients
14. Eagerness to learn, develop new skills and to keep up to date with changes in taxation law
