We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Respiratory & Sleep Scientist to help establish and lead our operations at our new Sleepscope site in Springwood and Yarrabilba, Brisbane, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient workflow as we set up our new practices.About The RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Respiratory & Sleep Scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing lung function tests and preparing patients for sleep studies. This role is crucial for diagnosing and managing Respiratory and Sleep conditions, ensuring high-quality patient care.Your Duties & ResponsibilitiesLung Function Testing:To perform high quality Lung Function Tests for patients with suspected respiratory conditionsInterpret test results and provide accurate feedback to physicians.Educate patients on the procedures and answer any questions they may have.Sleep Studies:Prepare patients for sleep studies by connecting them to the necessary monitoring equipmentEnsure accurate setup and calibration of sleep study devicesPatient Interaction:Communicate effectively with patients explaining the procedures and alleviate any concernsMaintain a compassionate and supportive environment for patients undergoing testingData Management:Document test results accurately and in a timely mannerCollaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate findings into patient care plansQuality Assurance:Adhere to all safety and quality protocols to ensure the highest standards of patient careParticipate in ongoing training and professional developmentEnsure all relevant equipment are properly calibrated and preparedRequirementsQualifications & experience:Must have full working rights in Australia without any restrictionsBachelor's degree in Respiratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related fieldClinical experience in respiratory &/or sleep testing is essentialRequires skills in operating computer-based, specialised testing equipment and must be able to interact with and encourage patients to achieve maximal performance on testsStrong analytical skills with attention to detailExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsCertifications:Registration and Certification as a Respiratory Scientist with (ANZSRS)Additional certifications in sleep medicine or pulmonary function testing will be highly regardedCurrent CPR certificationBenefitsCompetitive Compensation: We offer competitive compensation (AUD 35 - AUD 45) commensurate with your experience—valuing fair pay aligned with skills, experience, and work contributionsFlexible work arrangements: must be available to work every Thursday but second day is flexible.
