Job Title: General Practitioner - Bowen, Queensland.
Job Type: Permanent – Full-Time.
Practice Information:
The current clinic boasts 5 large doctor consult rooms with natural lighting, Nurse station, Nurse CDM room and a separate minor procedure room. However, they be relocating to brand new larger premises to provide even more services. The practice has pathology on site, Radiology across the road and a short drive to local pharmacies and Bowen Hospital. They have a predominantly middle-class patient cohort with many young families and a large elderly patient base who have been with the clinic since the start. The doctors are supported by an exceptional administrative team and three nurses who are trained in all treatment room and CDM duties. The clinic is also a training practice and welcomes Registrars each semester. This is a great opportunity for any doctor interested in becoming a GP Supervisor and passing on their knowledge and skillset to future doctors. They have a large active patient base with a current approximate three (3) week wait to see a Doctor. You will be replacing a retiring Doctor so will have a full appointment book from day one.
Position Description:
The General Practitioner (GP) is responsible for providing comprehensive, patient-centered medical care across all age groups. The GP conducts clinical consultations, diagnoses and treats a wide range of health conditions, and offers preventive care, health education, and advice. The role involves managing acute and chronic illnesses, coordinating patient care with specialists and other healthcare professionals, and ensuring continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct patient consultations and assessments.
2. Diagnose and manage a variety of medical conditions, both acute and chronic.
3. Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies as appropriate.
4. Provide preventive care, including health screenings, vaccinations, and health advice.
5. Collaborate with specialists and healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
7. Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
8. Uphold patient confidentiality and ensure a high standard of care.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Medical degree and full registration with the relevant medical board.
2. Fellowship with RACGP (or equivalent).
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
5. Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous professional development.

The GP will work in a medical center, with a focus on providing high-quality, accessible healthcare to the community.

Salary Information:
Percentage of billings.

The centre is situated at the top of the Whitsunday Coast in Bowen, located 45 minutes’ drive to Airlie Beach. Bowen is a rapidly growing community with urgent need to Doctors.
